Global Warming
Preface
Global warming is the greatest challenge facing
our planet. In fact, it is the increase
in the temperature of the earth’s neon- surface air. It is one of the most
current and widely discussed factors. It has far-reaching impact on climate. Besides,
global warming is directly impacting on rising sea levels, the melting of ice
caps and significant worldwide climate changes. In short, global warming
represents a fundamental threat to all living things on earth.
Causes of climate change
The word climate is changing mostly for the Green
House effect .The balance of the
environment is breaking down for increasing the temperature.Carbon dioxide ,CFC
,methane etc is the Green House
gases.The other causes of the global warming are:
1.Internal actions of the earth
2.Solar
radiation
3.Unplanned urbanization
4..Cutting
trees
5.Production
and use of atomic and chemical weapon
6.
Huge indutrialisation
7.
Enormous use of chemical products
8.Unexpected
use of fuel
9.Production
and use of luxurious products and
10.Variation
of the density of the sunlight etc.
Threats to Bangladesh for the change of the Global warming
: According to the experts , 106 types of Changes have been observed
in the environment of the Asia.The probable threats to Bangladesh for global warming are :
1. Natural disasters will
increase: Flood
,cyclone ,will be increased due to the change of global warming .It will damage
our assets and lives largely specially in our coastal areas.
2.Coastal areas and low
lands will go under water : According
to the experts , the sea level of the
Bay of Bengal will be increased about one meter
by this century.Rainfall will increase suddenly in the rainy areas for
the global warming .
3.Desertification of the dry
areas : On
the one hand ,global warming will increase
the rainfall in rainy areas and
on the other hand .It will stop the
rainfall in the dry areas .So desertification will happen in some areas
of our country for the change of the climate.
4.Production of agricultural
products will decrease:The average temperature of Bangladesh will be increased upto 2 degree Celsius by the year 2050.It
will reduce the production.So the effect of our global warming is a great threat for our agricultural sector.
5.Fishery and forest will be
destroyed : The temperature and the salinity of the seawater are increasing for changing the climate.It will spoil the fishes of the sea and
the mangrove trees and plants of the forests .
6.Water problem will be
increased : The rivers are becoming dry and the salinity of the sea
water is
increasing significantly
.Moreover the level of water under the soil is going down.
7.Health problem : Various
health problems and diseases will be increased for changing the word climate.Specially the
children will suffer from many diseases
.Some other diseases like hepatitis
–B,Polio,Cholera etc will be increased
enormously .Besides , the skin cancer will also be increased .
What should Bangladesh
1.To stop the use of CFC and the other Green
House gases;
2.To control the smoke of the brick fields
,industries and vehicles;
3.To stop the use of fire woods and bio fuels;
4.To expand the programs of planting trees all
over the country,specially in the coastal areas;
5.To monitor the behaviours of the global warming
;
6.To make the good contacts with the experts of
the world environment and taking
necessary information
about the world climate;
7.To expand their technical and monitory cooperation for
facing the challenging of the change of climate .
8.To stop the import of the industrial garbage of
the rich countries;
9.To increase the public awareness about
protecting the environment and
10.To prepare the effective and sustainable
policies .
In fine, it is difficult to
sustain against the nature .But the nature
doesn’t behave rudely with the human beinsgs.We have destroyed our
environment willingly or unwillingly .It
is our duty to remove the imbalance of the nature .So, we should take the
necessary steps for bringing back the balance of the nature.Otherwise ,it will
be the great cures for the civilization.
